Privacy Policy

How IT Rapid Support Inc. collects, uses and protects personal information through this website, in plain English.

01

Who We Are

This website, itrapidsupport.com, is run by IT Rapid Support Inc. ("IT Rapid Support", "we", "us"), a managed IT and cybersecurity company based in Ontario, Canada. We are responsible for the personal information collected through this website and we handle it in line with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

IT Rapid Support Inc., 7810 Keele St, Concord, ON L4K 0B7. Phone: (289) 582-9930. Online: the contact form.

This policy covers this website only. Personal information we handle for clients while delivering IT services is governed by our service agreements with those clients.

02

What We Collect

To see which channels bring enquiries, your browser keeps how you first reached this site (the campaign tag or ad click reference, the referring website's domain, the page you landed on and the date) for 90 days in its local storage, and how your current visit started for the session only; this holds no personal information and is sent to us only with an enquiry you choose to submit through a form on this site, never anywhere else.

  1. Information you type into our forms

We only receive what you choose to send us. Contact form: first name, last name, email address, company (optional), subject and your message. IT health check request: name, email address, phone number and what you are worried about. Quote and landing-page forms: name, email address, phone number and city. Careers application: name, email address, phone number, the position, department and location you are applying for, a link to your resume and your message. Where a form uses Google reCAPTCHA to stop spam, reCAPTCHA collects information about your browser and device to tell people from bots, and Google's privacy policy applies to that information.

  2. Self-assessment checklists

Our self-assessment pages (such as the security assessment, cyber insurance readiness score and Microsoft 365 security check) are checklists you read and fill in yourself, on screen or on paper. Nothing you tick on those pages is sent to us.

  3. Analytics and advertising data

Until you choose, and if you click Reject, Google Analytics and Google Ads receive only cookieless measurement pings, described under Cookies and Tracking Technologies below. If you click Accept in our cookie banner, Google Analytics and Google Ads collect information about your visit: pages viewed, how you arrived (for example from a Google ad or search), approximate location derived from your IP address, device and browser type, and actions such as clicking a phone number, clicking a call-to-action or submitting a form. If you have clicked Accept and then send us a form, your browser also sends Google Ads a one-way hashed (scrambled) copy of the email address and phone number you entered, so Google can tell us whether the enquiry came from one of our ads; Google receives the hash, not the readable address or number. We never send your name or message contents to Google Analytics or Google Ads.

  4. Technical data needed to serve the site

Like every website, our hosting and content delivery providers process your IP address and basic request information (such as the page requested and browser type) to deliver pages to you and protect the service.

03

How We Use It

We do not use the information you send through our forms for any other purpose without asking you first.

  • To reply to your enquiry, quote request or support request.
  • To consider your job application.
  • To keep our forms free of spam and abuse.
  • If you consent, to understand how visitors use the site and to measure whether our Google Ads lead to enquiries.
  • To meet legal obligations.
04

Cookies and Tracking Technologies

Google Analytics and Google Ads load on our pages in Google's consent mode. Until you click Accept in our cookie banner, and if you click Reject, they set no cookies, read no cookies and store nothing in your browser: they only send Google cookieless pings (such as the page address, the time, your browser type, that a form was submitted, and that consent was not given), so we can count visits and enquiries in total. Analytics and advertising cookies are set only after you click Accept. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, the Google tags do not load at all. We remember your choice in your browser's local storage (not in a cookie) so we do not ask on every page.

  1. Google Analytics (GA4)

Provided by Google LLC. Measures how the site is used (pages viewed, traffic sources, approximate location, device type and site events). It sets first-party cookies named _ga and _ga_* that last up to 2 years. IP anonymization is turned on. Sets cookies only after you accept; before that, cookieless pings only.

  2. Google Ads conversion tracking

Provided by Google LLC. Tells us whether someone who clicked one of our Google ads later contacted us, so we can measure our advertising. After you accept, it may set cookies such as _gcl_au and use Google's own advertising cookies, and when you send a form it receives the hashed email address and phone number described above. Before that, cookieless pings only.

  3. Hosting and content delivery: GitHub Pages and Fastly

This website is hosted on GitHub Pages (GitHub, Inc.), which delivers it through the Fastly content delivery network. They process your IP address and request details to serve pages quickly and securely. This is needed to run the site and does not track you across other websites.

  4. Other embedded services

Our contact page shows an embedded Google Map of our office, and our homepage has a video hosted by Wistia that loads only when you press play. Google and Wistia may receive your IP address and set their own cookies when you use those features. Our forms use Google reCAPTCHA, as described above.

  5. Changing your choice

You can change or withdraw your choice at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser, which brings the cookie banner back. If you withdraw consent, the Google tags go back to cookieless pings only and we delete the Google Analytics and Google Ads cookies set on our domain. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings.

05

Global Privacy Control

We honour Global Privacy Control (GPC). If your browser or extension sends a GPC signal, we treat it as a refusal of analytics and advertising tracking: Google Analytics and Google Ads are not loaded and no tracking cookies are set, without you needing to click anything. Learn more about GPC at globalprivacycontrol.org.

06

Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing or for cross-context behavioural advertising. The only advertising-related data flow on this site is Google Ads conversion measurement; it uses cookies and your hashed contact details only if you click Accept, and otherwise sends cookieless pings only.

To opt out, click Reject in the cookie banner or turn on Global Privacy Control in your browser. You can also send us a request through the contact form and we will confirm it.

07

Service Providers and Disclosure

We use service providers to run this website: GitHub and Fastly (hosting and content delivery), our form-processing service (hosted on Render), which passes your form submission to our team, Google (reCAPTCHA, and Analytics and Ads, which use cookies only with your consent), Google Maps and Wistia (embedded map and video). They may use your information only to provide their service to us.

We may also disclose personal information where the law requires it, or to a buyer of our business as part of a sale or merger, who would have to protect it as described in this policy.

08

Your Rights

You have the right to:

To make a request, use the contact form or call (289) 582-9930. We may need to confirm your identity, and we will respond within 30 days.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca or 1-800-282-1376.

  • Access the personal information we hold about you.
  • Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
  • Withdraw your consent at any time, subject to legal or contractual limits, including your consent to analytics and advertising cookies.
  • Ask us to delete your personal information where we no longer need it or have no legal reason to keep it.
  • Ask how your information has been used and who it has been disclosed to.
09

Children's Privacy

This website is for businesses and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

10

Retention

We keep enquiry and application information only as long as we need it to respond, to provide any services you ask for, and to meet legal and tax record-keeping requirements; then we delete it. Google Analytics data is kept for the retention period set in our Google Analytics account, which is no longer than 14 months. Your cookie choice stays in your browser until you change it or clear your browser data.

11

Safeguards

We protect personal information with safeguards suited to its sensitivity, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections, spam and abuse protection on our forms, and access limited to staff who need it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and will notify you and the Privacy Commissioner if a breach creates a real risk of significant harm, as PIPEDA requires.

12

Processing Outside Canada

Some of our service providers, including Google, GitHub, Fastly and Render, may store or process information outside Canada, including in the United States. While it is there, it may be accessible to courts, law enforcement and national security authorities of that country. We choose providers that commit to protecting the information they handle for us.

13

Privacy Contact

For any question or request about privacy, contact our privacy officer through the contact form, by phone at (289) 582-9930, or by mail at IT Rapid Support Inc., Attention: Privacy, 7810 Keele St, Concord, ON L4K 0B7.

Changes to This Policy

We review this policy at least once a year and whenever we change what the website collects or the tools it uses. The date at the top shows when it was last updated. If we make a significant change, such as adding a new tracking tool, we will ask for your consent again where required.
